The UnseenRole: Site Specific Multimedia Installation Artist
Date: 2017
Location: Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, San Francisco CA
Materials: Single channel HD video, wireless stereo headphones, pixel-mapped light fixtures, windows
Duration: 12 minute loop
The Unseen is a site specific multimedia installation that interrogates open-ended questions about the cinematic experience. Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture in San Francisco gave me an incredible carte blanche offer on their campus with this solo commission to close our their month-long Magic public event series.
Before proposing anything I did a series of site visits with the following questions: What is Fort Mason? What is a film? What is a screen? Who are the actors? Who is the audience?
This work both blurs and highlights the borders that make up the cinematic experience in hopes of revealing the unseen elements that allows us to perceive any magic at all: sharing space in time.
This was my first site specific multimedia installation piece, and introduced me to powerful media tools like Resolume.
