Project: Head of Production
Location: Sprinkle Lab in Oakland, CA
Date: 2013-2015
Role: Head of Production, Executive Producer, Line Producer, Post Production Supervisor, Account Producer, Sales, Film Series Founder/Programmer

It would be hard to describe how much I learned at this Emmy award-winning full-service video studio in Northern California. Still making delicious creative content today, Sprinkle Lab was one of those “right place, right time” kind of moments where everyone was motivated and tuned into being a team. The rising tides lifted all ships; I achieved a promotion after four months to become Head of Production and shared Executive Producer credit alongside the co-founders.

The meat and potatoes of the job was to lead simultaneous production teams, handle all client communication and satisfaction, run logistics, create profitable budgets, delivering content on-time, and ended with processing payroll and collecting project debriefs. It tested and greatly developed my ability to be an adept problem solver in high pressure situations.

Another pillar of my activities was to develop strategic partnerships & drive revenue growth, sourcing and closing new client contracts, including the largest new account in company history, increasing the previous top account value by over 250%.

The best part of the job was discovering and befriending new talented people to work with, finding out what they were up to, and how I might best pair them with clients who needed our video services.

As part of this recruiting and networking effort, I founded and programmed Sprinkle Lab’s Donut vs. Doughnut film series, named after our delicious logo and inspired by the connections made during post-film chats. It was a great way to invite our creative community to hang out and vibe outside of the work we did together.
