What began as a brief pop-up artist-run project in 2024 to get folks together and watch short films continues as an occasional event to this day.
By putting exciting and challenging work from around the world into dialogue with films from local artists, this series takes the moving images seriously without getting stuffy about it. The emphasis is on connecting with the films and other art nerds.
Each event has a tiny bookshop component with selections from local writers, collectives, and artists. Many of these books about media, film, and art are not physically available anywhere else in the state of Arizona.
All participating artists are paid a small honorarium for their participation and tickets are offered to guests as a suggested donation. No one turned away for lack of funds.
This is a no-profit activity to support avant-garde moving image practices in the state of Arizona.
